The Next Adventure?

It crossed my mind a few days ago to surf the airlines websites, just to see where are the plane flying to, just to relive the days of planning the next trip. I believe there won’t be travelling for the rest of the year or in the next year or so. Year in year out, we seek adventures that are photo worthy. We travel, we search for the next holiday, the planning of the itinerary, booking of the airline tickets and Airbnb. These never fail to give that rush. It gives our wages, our 9 to 5 life a meaning.

How do we redefine the adventures of our life? What does it mean now to live fully, expand the horizon, live the moment?  Livelihoods and incomes are disrupted. We are facing increasing uncertainty, and the world does not operate with the old rules.  How do we begin to build new dreams and hopes while sitting in the waves of our roaring fears and anxiety? Most of us don’t know how to stay with our vulnerability, and desperately clinging to what we call normal – ‘A couple more months, we can go back to our old life.’

Many doors have shut, but we have yet to look around at the new doors that are opening.

Sigh…!

Maybe for a start, it is just about feeling lost, sitting in the midst of the fog.

Softening the tension and tightness, allowing the overwhelmed and racing mind, to settle.

When the fog lifts, you might find joy in simply savouring the sunset in that far horizon.

Allowing the profound meaning of impermanence to seep in.

Saying ‘I love you’ to your dearest; maybe ‘I forgive you’ to that old enemy.

Not just planning the to-read-list – but actually read.

Learn a skill.

Reinvent our own rules.

Not just dream. But also act.

Simplify.

Love.

Be.

May your next adventure come from a space of inspired creativity, new beginnings, openness and possibilities.
