How do we ‘Drop’ our expectations?

Breathing Out... Settling Above the Clouds

Expectations

We house them.
They birth different emotions.
Disappointment. Anticipation. Anger. Frustrations.

Emotions that tend to thoughts that bind.
Bind the mind,
Bind my loved ones & me.

‘I should have known that.’
‘Why don’t you show me appreciation?’
‘What have I done wrong? If only..’

‘Drop the expectations.’ They say..

‘Ok.’

‘I shouldn’t think this way’
‘I am expecting too much.’
‘I am such a bad person.’

‘Argghhh…!’

Breathe.
Gosh breathe..
These thoughts are here now. Just Breathe.

Just for this moment.
A breathing out.
A softening. To the shoulders. To the face.

Let these thoughts pass like clouds in the sky.
For some thoughts are like ropes
Grip them too tight and they burn.

It’s maybe a moment of folly to think that thoughts can get rid of thoughts.
Learn to watch and hold ourselves gently.
Expectations or not.

It might still hurt.
With each breath. With each softening.
But at least there is also space to heal.

To receive regular inspirations, and all things life-and-human, to deepen your own growth and practice.
